After opening with a special edition on GLAM, the second instalment of THE ULTIMATE GENRE GUIDE will focus on the 1990s phenomenon of BRITPOP.

For many the era was defined by the rivalry between BLUR and OASIS, but this was a true flowering of innovative bands who examined what it meant to be British – and in so doing became popular not just in the UK, but around the world. Noel Gallagher has sold over 40 million albums worldwide.

These have proved to be enduring talents with large, loyal audiences. Timed to coincide with tours by NOEL GALLAGHER (April), LIAM GALLAGHER (June),and MANIC STREET PREACHERS (April), the special will include in-depth new reviews and articles on these artists and more besides.

They include: SUEDE (Brett Anderson autobiography and debut album reissued March 30th), PULP, PAUL WELLER, ELASTICA, THE VERVE and RADIOHEAD.

The magazine will also feature an introduction to Britpop pre-1990s and also a piece on Britpop’s legacy, focusing on ARCTIC MONKEYS, whose new album has just been announced.
