LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM; 1 OCTOBER 2026 – NME (nme.com), the globally renowned music and pop culture brand, today launches its latest print issue featuring Chilean artist Akriila on the cover.

From teaching herself guitar in her bedroom to finding her place in Santiago’s trap scene, Akriila has built a musical world that resists easy definition. In an intimate conversation with NME, the singer and rapper discusses the instincts behind her genre-blurring sound and her second album, Lucy Miró Al Mundo Y Notó Que Está Girando.

For Akriila, capturing a feeling matters more than technical perfection. “My recordings are based on sensation,” she tells NME. “If I say a word wrong, but it feels right, I prefer that.”

The September/October 2026 issue brings together the artists, performances and stories shaping music and entertainment today. It features interviews with Tyla, This Is Lorelei and Trim, alongside photography from Reading Festival 2026. Elsewhere, NME speaks with Tony star Dominic Sessa and House of the Dragon actor Abubakar Salim. The issue also includes reviews of new albums from Charli XCX, Ayra Starr and Phoebe Bridgers, as well as film and television releases including The Odyssey, Furious and more. Plus, the classic NME crossword continues its exclusive return to print.

This edition of NME Magazine is released as a bundle with the latest issue of Guitar.com Magazine, featuring British-Filipino artist Towa Bird on the cover. Reflecting on her ambitions and growing confidence as an artist, Bird tells Guitar.com: “I never really gave myself the permission to have those big, big dreams.”

NME Magazine is on sale from 1 October 2026 at https://www.nme.com/magazine. Superfans signed up to the NME Magazine mailing list are eligible for queue-jump access before each drop.
