LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM; 29 MAY, 2025 – NME (nme.com), the globally renowned music and pop culture brand announces French producer, vocalist, and composer Oklou as the cover star of the May/June 2025 edition of NME Magazine.

The latest edition of NME dropped via musical instrument retailer Dawsons (a part of Caldecott Music Group) at 14:00 BST today. Readers can buy the magazine from the NME x Dawsons Waiting Room. For all issues, exclusive queue jump opportunities are available to superfans signed up to the NME Magazine mailing list. Queue jump tickets are allocated randomly in the hours before on-sale.

“I’ve become way less afraid to go for things,” Oklou tells NME. In the new issue, the Paris-born artist, who’s recently been co-signed by Billie Eilish and tapped by Lorde to open for her on tour, opens up about writing love songs with conviction and pushing boundaries through sonic world-building. Her long-awaited debut album ‘Choke Enough’ showcases this creative reinvention – a project shaped by vulnerability, experimentation, and a desire to make sense of big feelings.

Also in the magazine: The Playlist – 12 essential new tracks for your headphones featuring Lorde, Wet Leg, Turnstile, Tanner Adell and PinkPantheress; deep dives with Stranger Things stars Finn Wolfhard and Djo as they carve out bold new paths; everything we know so far about the hotly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2; plus unmissable reviews of new releases from Lady Gaga, Japanese Breakfast, and Playboi Carti. Plus, lots, lots, more…

As a special bonus, this issue of NME is bundled with the first new edition of Guitar.com Magazine, a new 40-page premium title exploring modern guitar culture. The return of Guitar.com Magazine to print was announced in April 2025, alongside MusicTech, with each set to publish three print editions a year on an alternating schedule. The first cover is Mateus Asato – widely hailed as one of the most inspiring and innovative guitarists of his generation. From viral virtuoso to visionary solo artist, Asato opens up about rediscovering his voice, embracing vulnerability, and why music is about connection, not competition.
